Barcamp Delhi4 is no more struggling for the thought leaders but we still need many more hands for the execution and to find the right venue for it.

We understand that everyday many of us are hitting the Wiki link and actively waiting to see the final Venue of the event but to their disappointment it has not yet been announced. It is highly disappointing for us and for the sponsors as well. However, all we can say right now is to please keep little more patience.

What’s actually happening behind?

We already have an option to host the Barcamp on 17th. However, the place has two potential problems:

  • It is in the basement of a company premise and there is no Air Conditioner. I’m sure with the summers on the head, it will become very suffocating for 100+ participants.
  • The place has lot of echo, therefore, it will be difficult to isolate the sessions and hence the user experience may hamper.

Based on these factors, we have decided to keep our hunt for another Venue sponsor ON. Though we are trying our best to find a venue, it would be a great help if you can connect us to right people/ institutions who can sponsor their space for a day.

Should we go to Noida/Gurgaon?

One continuous problem for Barcamp Delhi organisers has always been to answer; where to hold the event? Noida and Gurgaon being the hubs for IT companies, it becomes relatively easy for us to find the sponsors at either regions.

However, Gurgaon participants complain that Noida becomes too far for them if we hold the event there and vice-versa. Therefore, ideally we should hold Barcamp at the center i.e. New Delhi. Now the problem is again to find the sponsors and we get back to the problem of Square One.

Wondering if any Barcamp Enthusiasts/ Lovers in Delhi are listening?

BarcampDelhi4 needs you, you all.

  1. Why don’t you guys contact impetus technologies, noida? they have supported the delhi barcamp’s last 2 editions by giving us the venue and lunch arrangements.

also you need to post the announcement of this barcamp on the http://groups.yahoo.com/group/delhi_barcamp/ and try to contact some of the organisers from barcamp3. You should get a lot of help & directions from there.

Good luck to you guys :)

  2. Thank you Ashish for the directions. It so happened that looking down at so much of the work, we just started the execution but now we realize it makes lot of sense to seek help from the previous organizers.

We are talking to Amit Ranjan about it. He has readily agreed to help us.

  3. ya, I think Impetus will be willing to go ahead support barcampdelhi4

    gud luck guys

  4. Hi,
I think we should not be distressed to choose between Gurgaon, Delhi and Noida.
I see people coming all the way from Pune, Hyderabad and Mumbai - the only thing I guess would help is finalising the venue so that outside folks can plan their trips appropriately.
I congratulate you all to have taken initiative in making the blog, sites and other arrangements.
    Good luck friends!
    Saumitra

  5. I think central Delhi would be a good idea… for everyone. (I live in Noida.) Yes, I can plan my trips and won’t mind the heat or sweat…

  6. i am sure amit would help you out with a lot of stuff.. i was myself an organizer for bcd3, but a heavy workload and personal committments will keep me away from both organizing & participating this time :(

Though I should be back for the Winter edition of barcamp delhi :)
