Spring signifies the emergence of new life. Spring months are the blossoming months that bring meaningful growth and rejuvenation in its wake. Spring enriches natural beauty and it seems as if nature is dressed in a beautiful green gown. If you were at IIT Delhi this morning, the “spring” in BCD5’s steps was resplendent in its energy and enthusiasm. It was the first day of Barcamp Delhi 5.

A Springy path for the BCD5 plant

If you talk of new life, do a “grep -c ” on the string “student” at this page. No better evidence of some young, fresh blood taking to the Barcamp as their window to opportunities, technology, business and what not. Starting on time and with the registration desk in place was looking like a missed deadline already. But thanks to some good contributions from student folks, it was like that last minute release making it out the door.

Having attended some of the sessions during the day, I could see a lot of awareness creeping through the ranks. Knowledge and ideas are blossoming in almost every individual who made it to the Barcamp Delhi 5. Whether it be a seasoned entrepreneur like Narendra Nag, a CEO like Bhavin Turakhia or a fresh engineering graduate like Paras Chopra. Everybody had something to say. And with no dearth of ears to listen, it made all the more sense. It is really encouraging to see Bhavin talk the technical intricacies of infinite scalability. Goes to show how deeply involved is this CEO with the technology that his company thrives upon. Narendra did a wonderful job with his presentation slides being ultra-light on content, but heavily loaded with knowledge from his many many years at many many organizations.

IIT Delhi was turned all green and red with the wonderful Barcamp posters all over the place. The green representing life and red representing energy, the Barcamp logo proved to be a wonderful mix of what the whole concept represents. Here it is, for the umpteenth time. And this time - I will give credit to the entire ESG Team at Earlysail. Since I don’t know all the members of this team, I will resist from taking names.

It has been a wonderful day as summed up during the feedback. There were a few suggestions that could possibly improve Barcamp Delhi, and make it more “un-conference” like. The organizing team is going to take one hard look at those suggestions and get in whatever fits the bill.

Hic. Hic. Okay its time to let the beer go to work. Finally, I will catch up on some sleep. Soon it will be another morning of this lovely 2 day spring season right in the middle of a scorching summer and the slumbery winters ahead. What else could BCD5 ask for. Here it is to a Rocking Barcamp Delhi 5.

See you tomorrow.
